Our Story & FAQ

Michael Agins has a background in new home sales, construction, & development. His extensive real estate background has allowed Team MBH to serve their customers properly and provide guidance even in what may sometimes seem like a situation without a solution. “Our team has come up with great win/win solutions for many homeowners needing help. From customers facing foreclosure, to probate properties, to traditional sales, we pride ourselves in doing things the right way, always. You can always expect clear & direct communication from us. We look forward to serving you.

How do you fund your purchases of real estate?

We use company liquidity and on occasion outside funding.  The purchase, from your perspective, will always be a cash transaction, so you don’t have to worry about us not qualifying for a mortgage.

Are you real estate investors or real estate brokers?

Mike Buys Houses NC is a real estate investment company. We purchase primarily off market, direct from seller properties. One or more of our members is a licensed real estate broker in NC. We do not enter into any representation agreements and solely act as the direct purchaser.

What type of homes do you purchase?

We purchase all kinds of residential real estate, ranging from single family homes to multi-family apartment buildings. We will buy your property as-is, and often times, the home or building is in significant disrepair. We will still give you an all cash offer on your property, regardless of the age or condition. Visit our Request An Offer page to get the process started, or simply drop us a line on our Contact Us page if you want to tell us about your property to see if it may qualify.

What exactly does your company do?
We purchase off market real estate direct from seller. We typically purchase at a discount due to situation or house condition and make it simple for a seller to sell off market with an all cash buyer. Once under contract, we most frequently disposition the property in 1 of 3 ways:

  • We will close and then fix the home up to make it more modern. We then sell the home in hopes of making a profit.
  • We will close and then fix the home up as needed to make it ready for a tenant. We then rent the home & retain in a portfolio.
  • We will sell our contractual interest in the property to another investor that will complete option 1 or 2 above. In this situation, our company earns income by receiving a fee from the new investor and/or by providing financing to the new investor and earning interest.
